What is Grounding?

Earthing or Grounding refers to the process of reconnecting with the earth by touching skin to a conductive material such as grass, dirt, rocks, sand, rivers, lakes or seas. In our modern times we aren’t connected to the earth as much as we used to be - therefore we are building up too much positive electrons. When we are grounded, our bodies are maintained at zero volts - the same electrical potential as the Earth.

Are There Scientists that Back the Concept?

Yes, for sure. The concept was ‘reinvented’ by Clinton Ober, a retired cable television executive who started studying how the earth’s natural energy and the human’s relation to it, can improve health. He wrote the book, Earthing, the most important Health Discovery ever? And joined forces with renowned biophysicist, James Oschman.

In his article on the topic, Dr. Oschman also refers to a case study, Earthing, Health Implications of reconnecting the human body to the Earth’s surface electrons, that explores grounding and earthing and its implications.

Do I need Earthing Products to Practice Earthing?

The goal of earthing products is to aid as a supplement to your natural ways of connecting to the earth. Unfortunately, everyone doesn’t have access to mud, sea, sand and dirt on a daily basis - but they still have the urge to feel connected to the earth.
